About the event

Saturday 18 November - 9.30am - Winter birds of the Colne Estuary. A walk led by Michael Padmore from Wivenhoe Sailing Club to Alresford Creek and back. To book please contact Michael on 07936 325603

The Colne Estuary is a SSSI of international importance for wintering Brent Geese and supports large numbers of Avocets and Black-tailed Godwits along with a good range of other waterbirds. The walk will be about four miles, along good footpaths. Car park and toilets nearby, opposite the Greyhound pub in Wivenhoe High Street. Regular trains stop at Wivenhoe station and we encourage you to use them.
