About the event

Despite decades of development pressures, the river Colne and its surroundings still provide a very important greenspace for both people and wildlife. From 2020, after pressure from CNHS members, Colchester council agreed to reduce the intensity of grassland management in the green spaces around the river, and some of us have been monitoring the amazing recovery of wildlife through the City Centre - from otters and kingfishers, may-flies, dragonflies and butterflies, to meadowsweet and water mint. Meet us at Cardinal Bourne Hall, where Ted and Sean will offer an introduction to this diversity with photographic illustrations.
