Monday afternoon walks during May. This is a chance to see the site for yourselves and to enjoy the rich wildlife associated with acid grassland whilst being serenaded by the songs of nightingales and skylarks.

EVERY MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MAY FROM 6 MAY Middlewick Ranges Local Wildlife Site – regular Monday afternoon walks during May looking at grassland and scrubland wildlife – 2pm till 4pm. Meet at the army post on the Mersea Road – What 3 Words: spin.pencil.eaten - Grid Ref TM005229. Park in Queen Elizabeth Way on the opposite side of the road. The location is on a bus route, stout footwear will be adequate and note there are no toilets on site. The Society is focusing its attention this year on Middlewick due to the site being threatened with development. This is a chance to see the site for yourselves and to enjoy the rich wildlife associated with acid grassland whilst being serenaded by the songs of nightingales and skylarks. We will be recording as many different species as we can find on our walks. If you have knowledge of more obscure wildlife groups do please join us.
