About the event

Sunday 11 June, 12 noon - 6pm:  Manningtree Earth Festival

Following the success of the inaugural event last year, the Manningtree Earth Festival is scheduled again in 2023. The aim of the Festival is to turn the centre of Manningtree into a fun, informative, inspirational and free space for all the family to learn more about how we can, individually and collectively, reduce our carbon footprint and reverse global warming. There are a number of different zones such as Biodiversity, Recycling, Energy plus music, food stalls and much more. There are no entrance fees so it’s free unless you want to purchase refreshments etc.

CNHS will be having a stand in the Biodiversity zone. Amongst others present will be the ‘Mothketeers’ – a friendly bunch of moth enthusiasts from Manningtree, Mistley, Lawford area. We are still planning our stand but like last year we will probably be setting out display material about insects, varied habitats and in particular Stag Beetles. Maria Fremlin kindly loaned us some of her precious Stag Beetle materials last year and it’s fair to say that they created a huge amount of interest. This year will hopefully be similar. So why not come and take a look? Use of public transport is of course encouraged. It’s an easy walk from Manningtree Station to the centre of Manningtree and there are buses from Colchester but you will need to check them out.
