Meet at Hazeleigh Wood, Hazeleigh Hall Land, Woodham Mortimer, CM9 6GT - TL834038. There are toilet facilities on site. Bring a packed lunch, the owner, Maureen, will provide drinks and biscuits for which a donation of £2 per person is suggested. Contact Sarah Manning on 07702 607898 for further information, especially regarding footwear and the nature of the site at the time.
Sarah Manning will once again lead a walk around the wood as the Society adds to the site records for this productive ancient site. Hazeleigh Wood is mentioned in the Doomsday Book and is a very varied mixed broadleaved wood. We will not be picking the fungi.
